Catering Policies 
Prices quoted in the Catering Menu are based upon the price per person or events described therein. Based upon the nature of your event, there may be additional charges or fees that may apply. Below is a partial listing of the charges that may apply. Further details concerning these fees and information as to your event are available by contacting the Catering Office at saic.catering@handcutfoods.com. 
 
Pricing 
Most of the pricing is per guest unless otherwise stated. Some menus require a minimum number of guests to order. All orders require a $50.00 minimum unless otherwise noted.  
 
Weekend orders require a minimum of $250.00 for food and beverage. 
 
Attendant Fees 
Attendants are strongly recommended for buffet events for over 50 guests. The number of attendants needed will be based upon the number of guests, the nature of the menu, and the timeline for the event.  
 
All events with alcohol will require our Basset Certified Bartender. 
 
General guideline for attendant staffing is:  
 
Buffet Events – 1 attendant per 50 guests 
Passed Appetizers – 1 attendant per 25 guests 
Plated Menus – 1 attendant per 15 guests  
The fees are as follows:  
Attendants / Servers are $50.00 per hour with a 4-hour minimum. 
Bartenders are $55.00 per hour with a 4-hour minimum. 
Onsite Chefs are $75.00 per hour with a 4-hour minimum. 
Event Managers are $75.00 per hour with a 4-hour minimum. 
 
Service Standard 
Standard catering orders Monday through Friday between 8am-6pm are serviced as drop and set orders for no additional charge. Clean Up/Tear Down of the event is NOT included. If you wish to have HCF return to the event location and clean up/tear down post event, an additional charge of $160.00 will be applied. 
 
Delivery Fees 
We provide complementary M-F deliveries from 8am to 6pm to the following buildings 280, MacLean, Sharp and Sullivan (note deliveries must also meet the minimum orders of $50 for weekdays and $250 for weekends). All other campus deliveries will incur a $20 fee. For events outside of campus, please contact the catering office at saic.catering@handcutfoods.com. 
 
Large orders with food and beverage total in excess of $4,000, or orders including specialty equipment may incur an additional trucking fee of $400. 
 
Pick Up at any cafe during normal business hours is available at no additional cost.  
 
Linens 
House linens are provided for all buffet tables with a standard set up.  
 
If you would like an additional black linen, we offer the following sizes:

90 x156 $12.99/each 
Linen Napkins are $0.59/each. 
 
If you would like specialty linen, we can supply them at market prices.If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us through the contact button on our website. 
 
China 
In house china and glass service is available up to 50 guests for an additional fee of $1.50 per person. If additional or specialty china is required for your event, additional rental charges may apply. Alternately, high quality ecofriendly disposable ware is available at no additional charge. 
 
Safe Food Handling 

Food safety is a top priority at HandCut Foods. We strongly advise against consuming any leftover food beyond the designated catering service window. HandCut Foods cannot assume responsibility for any food items that are removed, stored, or consumed by the client or their guests after the conclusion of the event.

Allergies and Dietary Restrictions 
HandCut Foods makes every possible effort to accommodate special requests and dietary restrictions. Due to our open kitchens that handle major allergens, including gluten and other ingredients for the preparation of other menu items, we cannot guarantee that items will be completely free of any ingredient. While we make every effort to avoid cross-contact, the potential for cross-contact does still exist.  
 
We encourage guests to ask to speak to the Chef or Manager regarding any questions about the ingredients contained in the food being considered. 
 
Deadlines 
 
Orders 
We kindly ask that orders be placed a minimum of 3 business days before your event and finalized no less than 2 business days in advance. Dietary restrictions should be provided at the time the event is finalized. 
 
Orders for 100 guests or more should be placed at least 2 weeks in advance.   
 
Event orders placed less than three days in advance may be subject to a late fee.  
 
We will gladly work with you and your group on any last-minute requests. However, menu items may be limited, and fees may apply. We will do our best to accommodate your needs with no additional fees. 
 
Guaranteed Guest Counts 
You must confirm the number of guests attending your event at least two business days prior to the event. This number, or the original number if not updated by that time, will be considered your guaranteed guest count for billing and operations purposes. 
 
For events involving more than 300 guests, a final count should be provided at least 5 business days in advance to ensure the availability of the food and other items required. 
 
Cancellations 
Please notify us of any cancellations as soon as possible.  
 
Cancellations 2 business days before the event will incur any preparation expenses and cost of custom or specially ordered items.  
 
Cancellations made less than 2 business days before the event will incur the full event cost. 
 
Payment 
All major credit cards accepted (MasterCard, Visa and American Express).  Complete payment information needs to be provided to confirm the event.
